| Association game | Word associations are the basis for a great many jokes Rules: Direction clockwise Time limit for the next word is 2 seconds times the number of people (The last round is very fast) First person says a word related to what is being talked about The next person has to say a word that is related to this word If the time limit is exceeded, then the person looses and drops out If a person says a word that is not related then they also loose and drop out Anybody can shout "stop". This challenges the person to explain why the word is related (and pauses the clock). If the person cannot explain they also loose and drop out If they can explain then the person that shouted "stop" looses and drops out The last man standing wins |
| Dictionary game | We round up the official part with the dictionary game if we have enough
time Learning new words in an interesting way... Rules: Direction clockwise The person with the dictionary is #1 The person answering is #2 Person #1 picks a word at random with eyes closed and then says - The main word that is bold and indented on the left of the column - Then says if it is a German word or an English word - and asks what the word is in the other language Person #2 gets 1 point for giving one of the words in the translation part |

A thouht! |
"It is not necessary to make a fool of some people.
They are quite capable of doing so themselves... Just let them speak!"
RobertNavarro2007
"What have cunnilingus and talking to your boss both have
in common?
One slip of the tongue and you're in the shit."
( Please be careful of what you say, children may be listening!)
Thoughts about "The pen is mightier than the sword"
Is it indeed a better way of communicating one's thoughts? Meaning, is it
more precise in conveying a meaning than speech is? Does the punctuation help?
Is the written word indeed mightier than the sword? Is it more "phoneme
near", as described in Mr. Steven Pinkert's book "The language instinct"
ISBN: 0-140-17529-6 ? Or even more important, is it a more important medium
in conveying one's thoughts than speech. It is pertained that it has a wider
audience if something is in the written form. A sort of cross-language-boundary
uniform meaning.
Isn't the German way of stringing words together brilliant! If they think
that they've got long works then icouldgivethemabloodyhugewordtochewon, which
any normal English person would be capable of understanding at once, whilst
holding back a giggle at the German's confused facial expression. Wahtthehelldidhesay?
....could be a good one worded answer! Reflections over a written piece of
text is a rather good way of memorizing it, and also a way of reflecting if
the basic meaning is actually conveyed.
